Burlesque Dancer Mata Hari from early 1900's Domino Pendant JF2130

Sorry, this item has sold.

Mata Hari is my muse! She was a burlesque dancer in Paris in the late teens and early 20's and became famous for her use of Orientalism and ornate middle eastern themed costuming. She was photographed a great deal and I have been collecting her images for years and years! ;~D

Her life was a wild ride of entertaining (both on stage and off) that ended abruptly when she was accused of being a spy for Germany and then was executed by firing squad. There is a good amount written about her life and it is really fascinating. She had an amazing production aesthetic and incredible marketing talent and used photography and the naughtly postcard trend to her great benefit, promoting herself across the globe in a time long before the internet!

Pendant is triple sealed, glitterized and then covered with non-yellowing jewelry grade resin. Resin jewelry commonly has small bubbles and any present are part of the organic nature of the medium. Resin is water resistant but not waterproof and should not be worn while bathing or be soaked in water. Domino back image is not of necklace that will be made and is included to show the hardware. I do not guarantee which number will be on the back of your domino. Model picture is to show scale when worn and is of different pendants but the same size dominos.

Your necklace will be placed in an organza gift bag and carefully packed for shipment. Please report any shipping damage or problems within 7 days of receipt and we'll get you all taken care of. We are deeply committed to providing our customers with the same service we give our family and friends and want you to think of us when you think of great service (and beautiful, unique jewelry, too, of course)!
