#8 Mine Turquoise Heart in Silver and Copper
The old #8 turquoise mine was closed down about 30 years ago, so it is available in limited quantities and becoming more expensive as it becomes more rare. I LOVE it for the beautiful, light blue shade that is highlighted by a light golden brown/tan matrix. I've always liked mounting #8 turquoise with copper as an accent, to play up that beautiful matrix. This fine silver pendant is also accented with a tiny garnet cabochon mounted above the turquoise in a copper flower made from a shot plate. I've used a textured fine silver for the back plate on this and added hand engraving to the tiny copper feather that hangs below. The copper trim around the heart is hand twisted wire. Lots of hours in this pretty piece - so much a labor of love for this #8 turquoise!
Shown on a heavy 20” 2 mm sterling silver chain, but pendant may be purchased with no chain, or different weight and lengths.
